DUAL ADDRESS MEMBERS
Many squadrons have the problem of tracking dual
address members. Nationals database does not support this but DB2000
can support it locally using these rules.
|
There are two columns in the roster grid, DA and Swap.
DA shows the members status as dual address. Swap shows the current location. When a DA
member is away, the grid cells of related fields are colored green. See below.
|
The fields affected are: Address 1, Address 2, City, State, Zip, Phone, Fax phone, Cell phone, Business Phone, Business Extension, Phone Tag, Email Address. Note: When a DA member email address is edited, the option is given to apply change to both home and away addresses.
|
To
assign a member to dual address status select the DA cell in the
members row and press Enter key (or double-click mouse). This will raise a
dialog asking to which location to assign his current address. Make a selection and the
cell content will reflect this with H for home or A for
away. The grid can be toggled between the two by selecting the Swap cell and presslng Enter key (or double-click mouse). Alternate address information can be entered into the grid directly as in editing, or the BDU form may be used which will reflect the location selected. If for any reason the two locations get reversed, a mistake in assignment for example, it can be corrected using the H<>A button at the top of the roster form. This just changes the H and A tags. |
When
swapping from home to away, or vice versa, a dialog is raised to ask if record is to be
included in next upload. If it is answered "No", such as when it is being
changed for maintenance purposes, the dialog will not appear when record is swapped back.
Also, once the record is in the next upload list, dialog will not appear if swapped. The
upload when it takes place, will always use the address currently showing on the grid. |
Dual
address status can be removed by selecting the DA cell and pressing the Enter key (or
double-click mouse). The dialog is similar to that used when creating dual address status,
but in this case it asks which address to retain. |
