How To Join America's Boating Course Vessel Safety Check

Kick off National Safe Boating Week with a world record attempt in conjunction with the annual Spring Open House at Jim's Anchorage near Raystown Lake. Join boaters from around the world to raise safety awareness and set a new world record for the most number of life jackets worn on a single day!

Free to participate! Just bring a life jacket!


Members will be available to answer questions about safe boating and give advice about life jackets! Free Life Jacket Checks will be offered to make sure yours is in serviceable condition! Our Certified Vessel Examiners will be on hand to conduct Free Vessel Safety Checks!


To participate in the World Record Attempt, sign up at our booth located near the boat showroom. We'll check out your life jacket and make sure it meets USCG regulations and then you can "Wear It!" while you smile for the camera! Give us your email address and we'll send you a copy of your photo and a certificate that you can print out and frame to show that you were part of a world record! You are encouraged to bring a life jacket, we will have a few on hand that you can borrow for a small donation.


Come meet Pennsylvania State Senator John Eichelberger and State Representitive Mike Fleck at 10:00!


Bobber the Dog will be greeting children from 10:00 - 11:00!


Participate in our Boating Safety Facts Fish Pond! Learn fun Safe Boating Tips!


Learn about the affects of cold water and why it's important to always wear a life jacket!


While you learn about boating safety and shop the great selection of boats and accessories at Jim's Anchorage, drop off the kids at our coloring table sponsored by the United States Power Squadrons, MetLife, and the US Army Corps of Engineers!
