Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
Red, White and Blue colors correspond with the American Flag. The top blue stripe represents the North Channel of the St. Clair River, the vertical stripe represents the Middle Channel and the bottom stripe represents the South Channel. The Popeye Anchor represents Lake St. Clair's Anchor Bay. Some members view the three blue stripes as a Bay, hence making it the Anchor Bay burgee. The first design in the 70's had the anchor displayed on an angle but was later changed to an upright position in the late 90's.
