Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The APS burgee came into being in 1957. The red crab upon a blue and white striped background was originated by P/C H. Warren Crawford of the APS. It was chosen from among 10 submitted designs. Annapolis has been called "Crabtown" by it local people for generations.
