Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The alternate blue and white stripes in our pennant are taken from the USPS Ensign. The black diamond is the symbol for Cape Lookout Light House, from which we derived our name. The star represents the North Star, which seamen have used for centuries to steer a straight course by. The red surrounding the star represents courage to always do the right thing. The white field around the black diamond stands for honor. The eleven color variations in the pennant represent the eleven men in the original group who founded Cape Lookout Power Squadron.
Our pennant was designed by W. E. Larson, one of the original eleven men.
