Squadron Burgee Heraldry: Our Burgee was approved in summer 1955 as 'Five blue and four white stripes and a wheel, encircling a palmetto tree (both in red) in the field.' To honor our 50 years of service to the United States Power Squadron we would like to add to the original Burgee a gold edge on the two fly sides. This would make our Burgee read as 'Five blue and four white stripes and a wheel, encircling a palmetto tree (both in red) in the fied, with flag gold stripes 1/2 the width of the vertical blue stripe folded over the 2 horizontal edges.' In August 2020 our squadron applied to change the burgee border color from gold to platinum in preparation for the 75th anniversary of the squadron in March 2021. Approval was granted.
