Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The Duluth Squadron’s burgee is comprised of the Aerial Lift Bridge in red, a registered historic landmark in the port city. The white arrowhead-shaped field on which the bridge appears is symbolic of Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region in which Duluth is located. The field of blue is another reference to the squadron’s local, representing the waters of Lake Superior, on whose southwestern tip Duluth resides. The red, white and blue colors were adopted from the ensigns of United States of America and the United States Power Squadrons. The platinum border proclaims that the Duluth Sail and Power Squadron has served its boating community faithfully for over 75 years.Heraldry created by the Flag & Etiquette Team on Heritage and Documents Committee in the absence of an existing heraldry.
