Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
In designing this pennant it was decided to use a keystone as an emblem indicating Pennsylvania, the "Keystone State". The loop made to look like a piece of line with the ends whipped, to represent a small "e" indicating Erie. The blue and white stripes were used to represent the United States Power Squadrons.
