Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The Hilton Head Power Squadron burgee colors of red, white and blue indicate the relationship to the United States Power Squadron ensign and to our National flag.
The letters "H H" appearing in the red field refer to Hilton Head, the location of the squadron. The shoe-shaped figure in the blue field identifies the island of Hilton Head, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Port Royal Sound, Skull Creek and Calibouge Sound, a part of the Intercoastal Waterway. The blue also refers to South Carolina, whose state flag has a field of blue.
