Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The Lansing burgee is a cryptogram of visual pun of the Squadron name. A careful look at the burgee reveals the name. A spear or in this case a "lance" penetrates a map of Michigan's Lower Peninsula in the approximate location of Lansing. Hence, the burgee symbolizes "Lancing Michigan". The colors were selected by Squadron members who were graduates of the University of Michigan, whose colors are Maize and Blue.
