Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
Our burgee shows a silhouette of the Stone Tower in Newport’s Touro Park. Nobody knows for sure the origin of the Tower. Earliest recorded history of the Tower is in a Will of Governor Benedict Arnold indication he built it as a wind mill in 1675. It cannot be certain whether he built it from ground p or modified an existing structure. It has been suggested that the Tower was build as early as the Twelfth Century by Norsemen or other early explorers.
