Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
The burgee has a red background with a blue circle in the center.. Oak Ridge has long been recognized as the Atomic City due to the World War II effort to enrich uranium and fabricate it into atomic bomb parts. Because of the name of the City of Oak Ridge, the symbol that was chosen to adorn the center circle is the symbol for electron orbits which circle every atom. A gold band along the fly indicates 50 years tenure.
