Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
A red dart running horizontally across the center of the pennant, represents Saybrook Point at the mouth of the 'Great River', the first permanent colony and fort to be established on Connecticut's shores in 1635. The color symbolizes the bloodshed which occurred there during the early Indian wars.

Superimposed upon the dart is a blue seahorse, symbolic of Saybrook's history as a seaport from the earliest days and the fact that its men have always been shipbuilders and seagoers. The seahorse's tail is arched back to form the letter 'S' for Saybrook.

The white field represents the sea and sky, which still surround and dominate this unspoiled coastal town.

The gold border is in recognition of the squadron’s 50th anniversary in 2003.
