Squadron Burgee Heraldry:

Our pennant consists of a solid dark blue bar running approximately a third of the distance to the fly. Superimposed on the blue bar is a white compass rose symbolic of water in the center of which is the USPS propeller. Off the point of the northarm of the compass rose is a five pointed star symbolic of the north star state an of the capitol city of St. Paul. The center third of the pennant is composed of a solid white bar and the final third of the pennant to the fly is a solid red bar. The colors being symbolic of our national colors and are displayed in the order used by our military services since the USPS has traditionally played a hand in training officers or future officers of the several services in boating and navigation during times of emergency and war.
