Champlain Power Squadron is located in northern New York state on the shore of Lake Champlain, where most squadron members do their boating.
Educationally, Champlain
offers Public Boating courses to the general
public, as well as advanced educational courses
to members. There are regular social meetings and cruise
& rendezvous with the Squadron and also with other Squadrons in
District 2. These outings are enjoyment for our members and
friends. Events ATTENTION MEMBERS!! 11/08/09 - The Annual Hauling Out Party will be held Sunday, November 8, at Hong Kong Jade Restaurant in Plattsburgh. Cocktails at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Our featured speaker, Roger Harwood, will present a slide show dealing with the Valcour Lighthouse. Bring a friend or two. 11/17/09 - The National Weather Service Skywarn presentation will be held Tueday, November 17 at 7PM at the Mae Currier Building, 305 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh. John Goff, a representative of the National Weather Service, will explain El Nino and discuss the upcoming winter outlook for the North Country. Other topics will include winter storm types, how to measure snowfall, marine forecasting on Lake Champlain, and an introduction to the Skywarn program. A short video dealing with falling through the ice will be shown. The program is sponsored by the Champlain Sail and Power Squadron.
