    United States Power Squadrons® is the world's largest non-profit boating safety educational organization. Established in 1914, USPS® has some 40,000 members in 430 squadrons.

    Our members contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating on the water and in the classroom.

    In 2008 Peekskill Sail & Power Squadron celebrated its 50th anniversary.

    Educationally, Peekskill Sail & Power Squadron offers Public Boating courses to the general public, as well as advanced educational courses to members. There are regular social meetings and cruise & rendezvous with the Squadron, also with other Squadrons in District 2.
Calendar of Events
Bridge and Squadron meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at Cortlandt Yacht Club, Montrose NY at 1830(6:30pm) Ex Meeting; 1915 (7:15pm) General Meeting.
November
  •     November 12 - PSPS Ex and General Meeting at Shattemuc Yacht Club – Located in Ossining on Westerly Rd. at the foot of Snowden Ave.  Speaker is Lada Simek, a retired educator, sea captain, adventurer, pilot and also a Shattemuc club member.  Dinner will be “Internationally” themed pot luck.  Call Elly at 914-737-6659 for reservations and meal information.

  •     Holiday Party – Sunday December 13 – Peter Pratt’s Inn, 673 Croton Heights Rd., Yorktown Heights NY . – Holiday Dinner at 6:00pm.

    Let’s Do Lunch Continues
    Join Elly in "Let's Do Lunch". This is not just for women but men also! To be held on the 1st Thursday of the Month.
  •     Sunday November 8 – Kittle House, 11 Kittle Road, Chappaqua N.Y. – this is for brunch at 12:00 noon.

  •     CPR: In June, eight PSPS members successfully completed a First Aid/CPR Course. At this time we are in the process of scheduling another course. The course takes two evenings to complete. If you are interested please contact Jim Mahoney at 845-878-7601.

  •     Instructor Recertification: We are planning a recertification class for those who have previously taken the Instructor Certification. Details to follow.


    • Win Valuable Prizes: Take and complete a USPS Course between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. USPS members can take any one or more of the following courses to be eligible for the following prizes.

        To enter the drawing, all you need to do is the following: Take and complete the above qualifying course or courses between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010, successfully pass the exam before June 30, 2010 and you will be automatically entered in the drawing. The winner’s names will be drawn at the 2010 Governing Board held in Seattle from August 30th through September 4, 2010.
