It is important to explain the results you will see. Since we cannot determine an exact geographic location for either you or the classroom, calculations are based on zip codes and what the Census Bureau views as the location of the center of a zip code's area. What you will see as a distance between your location, either entered or derived from a town list, and a classes's location is actually the distance between the center of your zip code's area and the center of the class location zip code's area.

This may lead to some strange results. If a class is given in your zip code area and is several miles away, the distance will be shown as zero because the distance between the two zip code centers is zero. Conversely, if a class is in a neighboring zip code area and is actually only a very short distance away, the distance shown may be several miles based on the difference between the zip codes centers.
