The Door County Sail & Power Squadron conducts courtesy
examinations of recreational boats in Door and Kewaunee counties.
These examinations verify compliance with state and federal regulations.
Our vessel examiners are certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and are members
of the United States Power Squadrons.

The Vessel Safety Check is strictly a voluntary audit for the prudent boater. You are not being boarded by a law-enforcement official. Upon the completion of the examination you will receive a written evaluation that you can use for making improvements where you see fit. Boats that pass the VSC will receive the current year decal to proudly display. To prepare for the Vessel Safety Check you are encouraged to do a Virtual Safety Check so you are familiar with the requirements and can address any shortcomings in advance.
