Click here for start locations, and timing. Timing is of the essence so lets get the
watches synched up way prior to the start.
Late boats should be heading north on a line from the Sturgeon Bay,
center channel marker to a point one mile east of the R2 nun
at the SE tip of Green Island from 1210 to 1220
Please use your GPS to stay right on the line as the plane pretty much can only go on a straight line for this part of the project.
Boats leaving early should head south on that same line from 1330 to 1340
stay a good 1/3 mile apart during the 10 minute window. (about one thumb for a tall sailboat and a half thumb for a trawler.)
Good separation may allow for as many as three shots on each pass.
have top and cruising speeds available when you register
The entry fee is $40 with $30 refunded if both days do not meet the weather requirements*.
The photographer will provide two sets of prints and one set of the negatives of each shot at no additional cost. These negatives are suitable for making prints up to 16 x 20. One shot of each boat will be up on the web site in case there are pictures of some folks that did not get registered (they will have to pay the full registration fee plus a $10 late fee for prints and negatives). If there is a sailboat race then some of them may get caught by the photographer.
(monitor channel nine at 5 and 35 minutes after the hour)
during and before the start time to get to open channel
and
to determine which one of five start locations will be used
