Boat Smart®
The USPS, four session Boat Smart® course is designed
to familiarize the public with the fundamentals of safe boating.
Successful completion of the course includes a Wisconsin DNR
Safety Certificate
now required for all motor boat operators born after 1988,
according to the
Wisconsin Boating Regulations, and may lead to lower boat insurance.
The Boat Smart® course covers:
Children, ages 11-15, can take the course if accompanied by an adult;
however, for DNR certification they must be 12 by the last day of class.
