April was again a busy month. First order of business is to
thank Frank Fitzgerald for coming to our Ex-com meeting and giving
the board training on Roberts rules of order. Very good presentation
and appreciate him taking the time to drive down from Prescott
to deliver this.
As I reported in previous messages, we received various awards
and recognition at the District Council from both district and
national. We were able to present most of these awards at the
GMM meeting last week. From memory we had P/C Chris Lockyer-Bratton
receive the District Two-Star award and the Educational Proficiency
Award. Others receiving the Education award were Danny Friend,
Larry Knowles, Dan Rye and Mike Pasvek.
The editor of the Bosns Pipe, Lee Whitehead received
awards for his work on our publication and the D/28 Lead Line.
Bob Schloeman again was recognized for his work on the websites.
Our squadron won the attendance award for district meetings from
San Diego. All of the time, costs, and wear and tear on vehicles
is appreciated.
April events included The Katherine Landing rendezvous and the
Lake pleasant raft-up. May events coming up are the boating
safety celebration, the off-shore cruise, and the stink potters
cruise. I will be a participant in the off shore cruise so, XO
Dan will run the ExCom meeting on the 10th at the PVPS and I
will be out of town on the 17th he will also chair the GMM at
Garcias.
It will be another busy and fun month so be safe and see you
on the water.
The highest reward for a mans toil. Is not
what he gets for it, But what he becomes by it.
