The following courses are offered to the public. If you are interested in attending one of these classes, check the Class Schedule page for the next convening.
Qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced USPS instructors provide instruction as a civic service. There is never a charge for instruction; the only costs arethose for materials, plus overhead costs such as classroom rental, shipping and handling, sales tax, etc.

Americas Boating Course (ABC) ABC is a joint effort between the United States Power Squadrons and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. It is available as an internet home study course for individuals who cannot attend traditional class room courses. A CD and a manual are provided as part of the course
America's Boating Course can be taken in any of three ways: on the Internet, by studying an 80-page course manual or with a CD. No matter how you like to learn, when you sign up you'll receive a complete package which includes the course manual, the boating course CD, and a PIN number giving you access to the Internet course

Skipper Saver
Man overboard is not the only emergency that can occur on a boat, but it may be the most dreaded. Skipper Saver teaches your family members and friends what to do and how to operate the boat if you become disabled for any reason from a fall overboard to something as simple as a sprained ankle or seasickness. This guide is must-reading for anyone who may have to take over operation of a vessel in an emergency. Also includes on the water practical training!
