After many months of hard labor the Ft. Myers Power Squadron gave birth to its first child, the Cape Coral Power Squadron, in June 1964 at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. Under the caring hands-on guidance of its Ft. Myers Power Squadron parent(s) Cape Coral Power Squadron took the first of many important growth steps October 1964 by calling to order its first official meeting. Limited and costly class, meeting, and storage facility space resulted in our purchasing our present Squadron Harbor building in 1980. A debt of this magnitude required that all member groups work hard and long over all the years since to support this team, financially sound decision. Cape Coral Power Squadron is a division of the ®United States Power Squadrons, Inc. (USPS). USPS has 453 squadrons with about 70,000 members. We are one of 20 squadrons located in District 22 covering western Florida. We currently have over 400 sail and powerboat members. Our heritage rich squadron continues to be an actively supportive, nurturing, caring, dedicated membership. |
