RI Rendezvous 2008
|
The 2008
Rendezvous started on Friday, 2 August 2008 at Jamestown, RI
where we gathered at the home of Cdr Tom and Lt/C Barbara's home,
then went out to a local restaurant for dinner.
On Saturday,
3 August some sailed and some drove to Bristol Marina and Colt
State Park, where tents were erected and a feast prepared. Some
threatening weather didn't dampen anyone's spirits at all, and
the rain passed in about 15-minutes allowing the group to enjoy
a beautiful evening with clam chowder, steak and chicken, corn
on the cob, and a scrumptious dessert.
The following
morning our hosts welcomed us aboard their boat for a wonderful
breakfast and then it was, regrettably, time to leave.
Many
thanks to our hosts Tom and Barbara, and to the many helpers
who made the chowder, assisted with the cooking, and made the
tents ready and packed them away afterwards. It was a memorable
rendezvous!
Cooks preparing the feast
in the "galley" tent.
Swapping stories at Social
Hour.
Ready for breakfast on
our hosts' boat.
Time to leave.
What a fabulous weekend
rendezvous!
