Some
of the group stayed over for Sunday breakfast.
The Biddeford
Pool Rendezvous was a great success. It started out with a good
size group for dinner Friday evening at Bufflehead's Restaurant.
We enjoyed some nice wine and good food.
On Saturday we had plenty of time to socialize, walk to the nearby
beach, and to the quaint little town. Ann and Skip Irving along
with their son Lonnie, hosted us while their other son Tom was
away at camp in New Hampshire as a counselor.
Dinner was served - plenty of lobster, chicken and many other
scrumptious side dishes. For dessert we had home-made strawberry
shortcake - it was awesome, with plenty of whipped cream.
On Sunday a group of us went for another walk out by the ocean
overlooking Wood Island Light. There was a fund-raising event
for the lighthouse - dozens of artists lined the shore painting
and sketching the lighthouse. There would be an auction that
evening to raise money for the renovation of the light. It was
fun to see the different perspectives and renderings by the varied
artists.
Commander Kathleen Lambert and her husband Wayne, along with
many others, including Barbara and Martin Owens, Naomi and Weldon
Nelson, Jean and Bill Moseley, Sandy and Irwin Macey all pitched
in to make this a fun event.
Come join us for a future function - it's a great way to get
to know your fellow members better and have a great time.
