June Membership Meeting
The June Membership Meeting was held at the
Vincent's Hiwassee River site. This is Jack and his wife
Rachel receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the Squadron
for their generosity. This was the 11th year they have
hosted this event. |
 |
| Getting an anchor to hold in the bottom of
Agency Creek proved to be quite a challenge for the larger
boats. We are not sure if they are anchored or have just put out
enough chain to serve as a weight anchor. |
 |
| The Smaller power boats managed to get tied
to the dock. This was a good place to be considering the
wake we received from passing boats in spite of the No Wake
sign. This is Don out there drumming up
some business for the VSE inspectors. |
 |
| We did get some VSE inspections done in spite
of the heat. This one would have been a pass except that the all
around white light did not work. You can check them out in the
morning and when you go to use them they can still not work. It
is a good plan to carry spare bulbs. Norm hoped this extra bulb
would work, but no such luck. |
 |
| Before the member meeting the Executive Board
managed to squeeze in a quick meeting. They elected to all sit
in front of the fan. I wonder why that was? |
 |
| We did manage to get in a meal for all that
came by land or by boat. The same menu for 11 years
and it always draws a crowd! (It must have been good because
even your Webmaster liked the fish.) |
 |
| During the meeting we found it it was Bill's
birthday. Happy 84th!
We also swore in some new members, Norman and
Gloria...
And presented Laura with her
Operations Training Certificate.
