| November 4th and 5th
Squadron members assisted with the 'Head of the Hooch' rowing
contest. Here the rowers are getting the boats ready to go and below we are getting the safety boats ready. Lower right, Linda and Don had their boat available to assist all day Saturday being on the water 11 hours!

| The racing started and ended in front of the 'Trail of Tears' fountain at Ross's Landing in down town Chattanooga. |
|
| The boats are of various sizes and carry different numbers of rowers. Some boats use two oars per person but most just use one. Hear are some examples out on the river. |

| Toward the end of the first day the Coast Guard buoy maintenance barge came through. Kind of mixed up the operation for a while. |
|
| It was kind of windy and cool but all and all another fun day on the water. And just another opportunity for the Chattanooga Sail and Power Squadron members to help out the boating community. |

| Speaking of new members here we are swearing in
Linda and Bob. They are two of our latest new members picked up from the Engine Maintenance class. Below the comander is displaying the co-op charting award that the squadron was given at the district meeting. The members with her earned the award for our squadron. All in all it was a busy, happy group. As part of the event members donated gifts for The Samaritan Center. These will be used to assure a happy Christmas for some of the less fortunate.. |
