Activities for the Month of October

Oktoberfest Meeting

The October 10 meeting was held at the Privateer Yacht Club. We rolled out the barrel and everyone had fun!

P/C Martha Williamson was presented her 25 year pin by Cdr. Sandy.  D/C John DiPrima served on Martha's Bridge and said she "was the best Commander ever!"

We had a fine time socializing before the meeting both inside and out.

Below on the right, we had a guest but we told her that this was not the Halloween party and to come back then.

Here we are getting ready for the feast. Norm is in the background cooking the Bavarian Beef and Noodles while Susan is icing the Black Forest cup cakes.
There's Bob at the grill doing the brats. There is nothing better than a new member that can cook.

We were all German for the evening...some of more so than others.

After dinner our speaker Matt Majors from TWRA gave a presentation on water accident investigations.

The days are growing shorter so the sunsets come earlier over Chickamauga Lake.

District 17 Meeting

The District 17 meeting was held October 28 - 30 at the Mainstay Suites in Pigeon Forge. Ten members of our squadron attended the meeting.

In addition to the meeting we had a hillbilly dinner the first night. Some of the hillbillies were from Chattanooga.

We also had the Coast Guard District Captain Jim Myers and his wife Carol attend.
Our national representative was National Executive Officer V/C John Alter, SN. Here he is congratulating Don over the fact that Don's training aid was picked by district to go to the USPS National competition in Jacksonville, Florida in January..
Stf Cdr John Rodgers, SN  chairman of the Cooperative Charting Committee gave a seminar on Inland Cooperative Charting. His wife Pat came with him.
Here we have the District Commander John DiPrima presenting Knoxville Cdr. Margaret Edidin some flowers for the fine job that she and her members did on the conference.
