Volunteers are needed for various functions at the Charleston Harbor Fest May 16 - 18. To sign up as a volunteer for the Harbor Fest, complete the volunteer form at: http://www.charlestonharborfest.org/involve-volunteer.html.  For additional information on the Harbor Fest, check their website at: http://www.charlestonharborfest.org.  The Charleston Power Squadron will also have a booth at the Harbor Fest and will need volunteers to man the booth.  Daisy Proctor will coordinate these volunteers.

As of 15 January 2008 the Boat Smart Course has been replaced by The Squadron Boating Course. This new course covers boating information that is similar to the previous course. The Squadron Boating Course will be taught in four lecture sections at squadron headquarters, each Tuesday, starting at 6:30 pm. As before, students successfully completing the new course will be issued certificates.

New information available concerning the current State Legislation regarding tax exemptions for boats that qualify as a second home, a letter to the slipholders at the City Marina in Charlestonand the application form to the county auditor's office for assessment.

The Squadron Boating Course is our primary civic effort toward public instruction in the fundamentals of safe boating.  Download the schedule or learn more about the course

-Vessel Safety Check
A Vessel Safety Check is a courtesy (FREE) examination of your boat to verify the presence and condition of certain Safety Equipment required by State and the Federal regulations.
