A Message from our Commander:

Welcome to the Charleston Sail & Power Squadron's web page.  We are a unit of The United States Power Squadrons, the premier Boating Club of America; you can go to www.usps.org to learn more about who we are and what we do.  Our prime interest is in promoting safe boating as well as having fun on the water. 

 

Boating is fun, and we will show you how.   Our public boating course is called America’s Boating Course which covers the basics of recreational boating.   For our members we offer advanced courses so that they may improve their boating knowledge and skills.

 

We are also a public service organization; our members work with NOAA to help provide up to date navigation charts of the Charleston area waterways. In our Vessel Safety Check (VSC) program, we provide free boat safety checkups for local boaters.

 

We're also a fraternal organization and our members enjoy various on the water activities such as short cruises and shore activities to include monthly dinners meeting with interesting guest speakers.

 

Our members benefit from many perks such as reduced boat insurance rates. If you want to improve your boating knowledge and skills, if you want to help promote safe boating, if you want to associate with other like minded sailors and power boaters, give us a call. We're worth checking out.
