Charleston Power Squadron

A Message from our Commander:

Welcome to the Charleston Power Squadron's web page.  We are a unit of The United States Power Squadrons, the premier Boating Club of America, and you can go to www.usps.org to learn more about who we are and what we do.

Our prime interest is in promoting safe boating as well as fun on the water. We offer beginning courses to non-members to help promote safe boating. We offer advanced courses to members so that they may improve their boating knowledge and skills.

We are also a public service organization working with NOAA to help provide up to date navigation charts of the Charleston area waterways. In our Vessel Safety Check (VSC) program, we work with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and provide free boat safety checkups for local boaters.

We're also a fraternal organization and arrange various on the water activities such as short cruises and shore activities such as lunches and more formal dinners during the year.

Our members benefit from many perks such as reduced boat insurance rates. If you want to improve your boating knowledge and skills, if you want to help promote safe boating, if you want to associate with other like minded sailors and power boaters, give us a call. We're worth checking out.

This year, most of the Bridge are newer members and we have many new ideas for on-the-water activities and cruising venues. So, join us, meet new people, learn about boating, and have a great time.

Please feel welcome to contact me about the many facets of boating in the Charleston area and the many advantages of membership in the Charleston Power Squadron.

 Art Clark, P

Commander.
