Our Oyster Roast Fund
Raiser for the Squadron was a great success. He had @95 people
attending and donating to the Squadron. We went through 14
bushels of oysters, 10 cups of cocktail sauce, three pounds of
crackers, fifty hamburgers, forty-five hotdogs, cases of drinks
and tables loaded with salads, deserts and chili. Our members
were great to bring all the extras. What a feast. We had a
large number of invited guests and others that came because of
the extensive public service advertising that Gary Whitley was
able to obtain for us.
There are a lot of ‘thank
you’s’ due for this and I hope I do not miss anyone. First off
a special Thank You to Fred and Joyce Wichmann for graciously
allowing us to use their home for the party. They epitomize
Southern Hospitality.

What a view we had from the back yard of
Toad Hall.
Our oysters were some of the best
ever and we can thank Commander Dave Walsh and his helpers
Mike and Judy
Fauss for bringing the
honored guests and getting them ready. Of course, our cookers
were the greatest. Steve Rustin and Terry Marinko arrived at
noon on Saturday and stayed until there were no more oysters,
appetites or any of Steve’s special sauce. Thanks Gentlemen!

Terry and Steve
Commander Walsh, Gary
Whitley and XO Art Clark built new oyster tables and our new
Admin. officer BJ Smith provided new barrels. Nick Pastis was
in charge of the drinks and no one went dry. Thanks Nick! BJ
Smith and Anne Howells cooked the hotdogs and hamburgers. They
both were well smoked by the end of the party. Gary Whitley ran
for more food when we ran low because of the huge turnout. Thank
you all. Wendy Walsh collected money and kept track of who paid
what. Thank you Wendy.
From me to all of you-Thank You! This was
a great Oyster Roast because of the Squadron’s members. You are
the Best!
