The
original Nereids are the fifty daughters of
Nereus and
Doris who dwell in the
Mediterranean Sea. These beautiful women were always friendly and
helpful towards sailors fighting perilous storms. They are believed
to be able to prophesize. They belong to the retinue of
Poseidon.
Our Nereids are kind and beautiful women that comprise a social and charitable group associated with our squadron. They assist our "sailors" in their endeavors to promote boating safety and education. Officers for 2009 are: President - Janet Mark; Vice President - Charlotte Erickson; Treasurer - Liz Winner; Secretary - Betty Mula. March meeting on the 16th will be a trip to Shalom Park - Gardens & Labryrinths. Callers will be checking with members. There will be a Military Card Party on April 1 - contact Jennie O'Connor for tickets.
