The
original Nereids are the fifty daughters of
Nereus and
Doris who dwell in the
Mediterranean Sea. These beautiful women were always friendly and
helpful towards sailors fighting perilous storms. They are believed
to be able to prophesize. They belong to the retinue of
Poseidon.
Our Nereids are kind and beautiful women that comprise a social and charitable group associated with our squadron. They assist our "sailors" in their endeavors to promote boating safety and education. Officers for 2011 are: President - Liz Winner; Vice President - Joanne Hepner; Treasurer - Sophie Jordan; Secretary - Linda Craven.
