Squadrons of D16

District is made up of 17 squadrons each assigned by the Governing Board to the district. The oldest squadron is Tacoma, chartered in 1939 and the newest, Point Wilson, chartered in 2005.

Leadership

Squadrons are a fundamental grass roots type of organization that provides leaders at the other two levels, district and national. Squadrons are also fundamental to providing the mission of USPS to the public, "Safe Boating Through Education." Squadrons support local safety programs and through the district national and state wide boating safety initiatives such as "Safe Boating Week."
