USPS District 19 Spring Council and Conference 2013
March 4, 2013
Please excuse this blanket email but I have been given the dubious honor
of putting together a raffle for the upcoming D 19 Conference and
Council meeting. We will still be having the traditional auction to help
defray expenses at the conference. Please advise all the new Commanders
that there is a required donation from each squadron Normally the host
squadron also tries to solicit donations from other sources to donate to
the auction in order to make the entire event more interesting. Please
let your squadron members know that any and all donations would be
greatly appreciated since there is no host Squadron. For you old timers
please speak to your fellow members about being creative in approaching
the auction and request that they be generous in their donations.
Secretaries please let your new Commanders know that this will be
happening.
if anyone has any questions please contact me. The donations do not
have to be expensive but should be of interest to the nautical
community. It seems from auctions in the past that items such as
books, quilts, bags and articles of a nautical theme rather than
boating equipment seem to be things of interest. Also anyone who can
get donations from local marinas, restaurants and supply houses will
be greatly appreciated. Hopefully you will all be creative. See you
all there.

Plans are underway for the combined Council and Conference in the Spring of
2013. The location will be the North Conway Grand Hotel, which is situated
just next to the Settlers' Green shopping complex. The dates will be April
26 and 27.
This hotel is quite new and has beautiful rooms. The block of rooms
will keep our Conference attendees located in the same part of the hotel,
and we will have a spacious hospitality room for reception purposes. The
hotel has an indoor as well as a heated outdoor pool, hot-tubs, exercise
facilities, facility-wide wi-fi, and
plenty of other amenities. I think that you will find the room rates
as attractive as the rooms themselves. Details to be posted soon.
Settlers' Green will provide some alternative interest and activity
for us all. The White Mountain region of New Hampshire is loaded with other
attractions and scenic areas.
So, please block out those dates on your calendars, and stay tuned
for details, coming soon to a District 19 website near YOU.
