for review and approval. (Click Here)
Your
D19 Web Site & Webmaster have again earned the ' Distinctive Communicator
Award ' for the review year of 2012
The D19 Revised By-Laws for your review
and comment are here now
Here are the
bylaws with the changed 8.7 discussed yesterday. As before the changes to
the January 2010 bylaws are as follows; red indicates addition and the
struck words (now blue) are deletions . This should be emailed to all
Council & Conference members for review and we should add to website as
well. Unfortunately there is no way we can have the fall conference adopt
these, as the 30 day notice will not have been met. The upside is that they
will certainly have passed the test by the spring conference!

A nationwide requirement for mandatory boater education in
Canada could affect U.S. boaters who travel up north.
The law, which went into effect on the 15th of
September, requires anyone who operates a motorized
recreational boat in Canadian waters to pass an approved
boating safety education course and carry evidence of
that when afloat.
However, according to the company that is administering
the exams for the agency in charge, Transport Canada,
United States citizens on U.S. registered boats who do
not stay more than 45 days in Canada need not comply.
But according to Transport Canada's website, U.S.
citizens who charter or rent a Canadian-registered boat
must possess "acceptable proof of competency," and a
state-issued boater safety card should qualify.
