Westchester Sail and Power Squadron® ("WSPS") is part of the United States Power Squadron ("USPS"), the world's largest private, non-profit boating organization.   Westchester was awarded its Charter in February, 1937.  The majority of our members are drawn from Central and Southern Westchester County.  The boating activities of our members take place primarily in the Long Island Sound and the Hudson River.

The Westchester Sail and Power Squadron (like all of the squadrons that comprise USPS) is made up of families who contribute their time by teaching safe boating in the classroom as well as promoting safe boating on the water.

Sharing Our Knowledge

We offer the USPS Public Boating Course which meets the educational requirements for boat operation and licensing in all the states.  This course is offered to new boaters, and to experienced boaters who wish to brush up on their boating skills.  After successfully completing this course, you will be offered membership to Westchester Sail & Power Squadron.
All members are entitled to further their education by taking courses on Seamanship, Piloting and Position Finding, Celestial Navigation, Marine Electronics, Weather, Sailing, Engine Maintenance, Cruise Planning and much, much more.
Because of the excellence of our boating courses, members are entitled to discounts on most boat insurance policies and on membership in BoatU.S.   Click here to see the many benefits of membership.
