Announcing the New Educational Officer

Tom joined the Bluegrass Sail & Power Squadron in 1994. He has served as
Secretary, XO, Commander, SEO, ASEO, and editor of the newsletter in the 13 years he has been in the organization. Tom has also served as D/24 Assistant Educational Officer for 3 years. His
wife, Carol serves as assistant editor of the Bluegrass Sail & Power Squadron newsletter and oversees the Ship's Store He and Carol own a 1997 23foot Sea Ray cuddy cabin. They both
enjoy boating and traveling. Tom has been on several sailing trips to Chesapeake Bay and has been on a number of trips on the Kentucky and Ohio Rivers. Carol has also sailed on the
Chesapeake as well as taking several off shore fishing trips with To. They boat primarily in Kentucky on Herrington, Cave Run and Lake Cumberland in Kentucky.
Tom has worked for 28 years in the photo
department at Lexington Herald-Leader. He has done about every job in the department starting as a clerk and moving to photographer and then into management. Tom now works as an assigning
editor and coordinates daily on-line photos in addition to a number of administrative jobs for the department. He is a graduate of Transylvania University (1971) and did graduate work at
Ohio University in Visual Communications. Tom has been married to this wife Carol for almost 30 years. He is from Salvis, KY and Carol is a Lexington native, They enjoy boating, travel and
