A Vessel Safety Check (VSC) is a free check of a vessel’s equipment
for compliance with federal and state safety requirements. The vessel
examiners performing this service have been trained to look for some of
the more common problems which might occur in your boat or its
associated safety equipment. Some of the items we check are:

Click on the
Boater's Guide (left) to see what the requirements are for your vessel.
If a vessel meets all
of the Vessel Safety Check requirements it is awarded a VSC decal. To
find a Vessel Examiner in your area click the button to the left.
Vessel Safety Checks
are not a boarding or law enforcement issue. No citations will be given
if boats do not meet the safety requirements.
Squadron VSC
Chairpersons and Vessel Examiners should visit the USPS VSC web site
for information on current results, program information and order forms
