Benefits of Membership

Membership in the United States Power Squadrons and the Deception Pass Sail and Power Squadron provides you many new friends with extensive experience in recreational boating.  The classes alone provide an overwhelming value to membership.  Members receive our monthly Spindrift newsletter, the national magazine Ensign, discounts and savings on boat insurance through accumulation of education and from the Power Squadron insurance program.  See a full description of member benefits on the National website page:  http://www.usps.org/national/admin_dept/membenefits.htm

Becoming a Member

All potential and new members are strongly encouraged take a basic boating safety class.  Most of our members join immediately after passing the America's Boating Course  or the Squadron Boating Course.  You can also qualify for membership by taking a basic boating safety class from the Coast Guard Auxiliary or by taking the computer interactive America’s Boating Class (www.americasboatingcourse.com).  Graduates of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy are also eligible for full membership as is anyone holding a USCG Masters License.  You must become an active member to take the advanced and elective courses offered by the Power Squadron.
