Michigan

one leaf up in summer 09'
excert from LNM
week 24 in 09
Rehabilitation of the Michigan Street Bridge at Mile 4.30 over the Sturgeon
Bay Ship Canal will commence on June 18, 2009 and continue until
approximately January 2010. From June 18 until July 10, 2009, one leaf will
be kept in the open position while the pier protection fenders are removed.
Should mariners require a full opening for passage, an opening will be
granted provided a 2-hour advance notice of arrival is given. Advance notice
should be given to the project foreman at (906) 458-2105 or (715) 572-6295.
Throughout the entire project, work barges of various sizes will be utilized
in the waterway along the pier spans. When not in use the barges will be
moored and lighted in accordance with navigation rules. Mariners should take
note that a pier protection fendering system will not be in place for the
majority of the project. Due to the nature of work being performed, mariners
are strongly urged to exercise extreme caution in the vicinity of the
bridge. [24/09]
