Kids Boating Safety Class

This course provides kids with boating safety knowledge that will help prevent accidents and help kids save themselves, if they are in an accident.  This course is intended for children in 2nd through 6th grade.

We use stories, skits, games and experiments to get the messages across to the children.  They learn the proper SIZE, FIT AND COLOR at the "Life Jacket Style Show".  "Uncle Louie", a real fishing whacko, teaches them what to do in a boating accident - SIT, THROW, YELL AND WAVE.  They also learn the many "Hidden Hazards" and what makes a "Fatal Chain" of events.  They experiment with hypothermia and an oil slick.  They learn why "Boating and Booze Don't Mix".  They make their own Rescue Bag.

All children must be pre-registered.  This is a three night course taught by members of the Everett Sail & Power Squadron in conjunction with the Basic Boating Course and America's Boating Course.  The class is FREE. Brought to you by the Everett Sail and Power Squadron and Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.
