United States Power Squadrons Organized in 1914, USPS is a non profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects. Our members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. We enjoy participating with our fellow members on the water and in the classroom. USPS has some 45,000 members organized into 450 squadrons across the country and in some US territories and Tokyo. USPS is the world's largest non-profit boating organization and has been honored by three US presidents for its civic contributions.

The Findlay Sail & Power Squadron was officially charted by the United States Power Squadron. as Fostoria Sail Power Squadron in 1941 and name changed to Findlay Sail & Power Squadron in 2010 Headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, encompassing SW Lake Erie and surrounding Communities. The FS&PS welcomes all boat owners, power and/or sail and enthusiasts to join in our efforts to promote safe boating. Details of membership, and our activities are located elsewhere on this website and associated website links. The Findlay Sail & Power Squadron is a proud member of District 29. of the USPS..

FSPS members, in a cooperative program with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, conduct courtesy Vessel Safety Checks of boats at the request of their owners. This informs boat owners of whether or not their boat would pass an inspection by US Coast Guard. Our members also help the National Ocean Service keep our nautical charts accurate by reporting chart corrections.

We offer free vessel safety checks Check List.   With this check you will know if you have all required safety equipment on board. For a pre check list VSC Check List or more info about a VSC Vessel Safety Checks.
