The Squadron serves the three Counties in the Northwestern tip of South Carolina, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee, as well as Hart County in Georgia. It is a sparsely populated region, of small towns, National Forests, lakes and streams. Waterfalls abound; the Blue Ridge mountains are minutes away and form our Northern vista |

Where We Are |
We are fortunate to have three beautiful cruising lakes with miles of undeveloped coastline, isolated beaches and uninhabited islands. Lakes Jocassee and Keowee were created by damming the tributaries of the Keowee River by Duke Power. The largest, Hartwell Lake, is an Army Corps of Engineers impoundment. |
Lake Jocassee, consisting of 7,656 acres, is high in the mountains with little commercial development. The lake remains cold and clear throughout the year and is known for its record Brown Trout and huge Largemouth bass. Devil’s Fork State Park provides full camping facilities and there are several access sites. |
Lake Keowee provides 18,500 acres of water and a 300-mile shoreline making it a popular place for boating, fishing, water-skiing, swimming, camping and picnicking. There are numerous public access sites and campers can enjoy the 1,000 acre Keowee-Toxaway State Park and the county-managed 155-acre Mile Creek Park, the 40-acre South Cove Park, and 44-acre High Falls Park. Lake Keowee Marina offers full boat services. Hartwell Lake comprises nearly 56,000 acres of water with a shoreline of 962 miles. It is one of the Southeast's largest and most popular public recreation lakes, serving about 10 million visitors annually. There are more than 80 public sites, as well as, numerous undeveloped sites and islands. In addition, there are five marinas that provide boat rentals, oil and gasoline, and boat repair. |
