A Beautiful Setting For A Great Party

Our Christmas party was very exciting and we were pleased to welcome guests, John Jones from the Bullhead City Fire Department and his wife Heather. John is a Fire Inspector and Investigator for the department. He graciously accepted gifts for the local children as part of department's annual toy drive. We hope to adopt a new tradition in the squadron by donating children's gifts each Christmas.

And Explaining Some Of The Services Provided By The Department for Bullhead City Residents

John also gave us some insight into the work the department does with local citizens to promote fire safety especially the value of working smoke detectors.

Squadron member Bob Kelly who organized our participation in the Toy Drive has some added comment below:

Toy Drive
Bob Kelly

I would like to thank each squadron member who participated in the Bullhead City Fire Department annual toy drive. I have had several calls from the fire department thanking us for our contributions. The fire department was able to grant Christmas wishes to over 1500 youths this year.

I am very proud to be associated with a caring group of people. I would like to see this become an ongoing annual event supported by our membership.

Activities such as this demonstrate to our community that the Lake Mohave Sail and Power Squadron supports the communities

Thank you, Bob, for helping us get a very worthy cause started.

Talk to Firefighter Jones

We enjoyed delicious appetizers, great food and best of all, great fun! We had a choice of Prime Rib, Baked Fillet of Salmon with Lemon Caper Sauce or Baked Chicken Breast with White Wine Sauce. After dinner we presented John Jones with the numerous gifts donated by our members. The gifts will be presented to local children as part of the community wide gift giving by the Bullhead City Fire Department.

Thanks Sharon For Setting Up A Great Party

The "white elephant" gift exchange was next on the agenda and quickly became the evening's entertainment. There were many "interesting" gifts and several switches made after the gifts were opened.
