July Overnight
by Sharon Dack

To say that it was hot for our July overnight on Lake Mohave is an understatement. However fourteen hardy campers on seven pontoon boats had a good time despite a little heat.

A Happy Group Of Campers

The water was warm and pristine, and we should know, since we spent a great deal of time floating and enjoying each other's company and getting better acquainted with our newer members. Our newest members, Carlos and Gloria Campos, came well prepared with all

their camping set up, and this was a first overnight with the Squadron for the Evans, Wellers and Formolos as well.

We were pleased with how many brave souls were able to join in this fun outing. Who knows, we may keep an eye on the weather and do this again when it's a little cooler and the vacationers have gone back to work and school.

Some Of The Group Having A Conversation

We found that there was an abnormal amount of day campers saving the beaches with their gear and leaving at night....sometimes not coming back the next day. Finding a beach large enough for our seven boats was a real challenge. The Rangers advised us that their belongings could be removed if there wasn't anyone staying on the site.

A Nice Gathering Of USPS Members

Hard to do, but very frustrating when looking for a spot only to see canopy frames sitting like skeletons on the sand. As I said "when the vacationers go home"
