Our Spring ABC-3 Boating Safety Course ended on Saturday, April 16, with 8 students successfully completing the course. This was a significant increase in the number of students compared to last fall. Our newspaper advertisement was the key factor in alerting the community of our primary goal: to provide the knowledge of safe boating practices to both new and experienced boaters.
Instructor Mike Accardo (Center) With His Spring ABC-3 Class. Our learning format seems to be working to the benefit for all who took the course. Most students were registered two to three weeks prior to the first class and given instructions to study via the text and CD. The class was structured with a power point presentation that elicited information from the first two chapters. The information was discussed through the group participating in questions and answers, clarification of safety procedures, and relating of experiences by all students and instructor.
