Boating is fun..We'll show you how


THE USPS PUBLIC BOATING COURSES

The Squadron Boating Course (SM), Boat Smart© and America's Boating Course® (ABC) are designed to familiarized the student with the fundamentals of safe boating and qualifies for certification in most states that require boating education before operating a watercraft (not currently an Arizona requirement). The Squadron Boating Course is structured for one night a week, two hours each session, and is completed in eight weeks. The Boat Smart and America's Boating Course(s) are one night a week, two hours each session, for four weeks. Admission is free. Although not required, course study guides and supporting materials are available for minimal costs.

Some insurance companies offer discounts on boat insurance for successful completion of the Squadron Boating or Boat Smart courses.

This spring there were 15 registered students. Six students cancelled, postponing classes until the fall session due to personal reasons. The nine students who passed and received their certificates are now Trial Members of the Lake Mohave Sail and Power Squadron. Special congratulations to two of our youngest students, 13 year old Blaise Militello and 14 year old Brendon Kutz.
