Ahoy Everyone!
Well Wishes!
Please join me in sending both Bev Keith and Bob Kelly well wishes for a speedy recovery from their respective medical issues. Bev, we truly hope those ribs of yours are healing nicely. I hope to see you with the rest of us at our general membership meeting (and, of course the concert series) in February. Bob, I bet Bev and your doctor are holding you down and requiring you to take it easy until you recover nicely. We need you both happy, healthy and joining us out here in the beautiful weather that has decided to visit us.
District 28 2012 Spring Conference and Change of WatchThe Lake Mohave 2012 Conference Committee would love to see you all join us as we host the District 28 2012 Spring Conference and Change of Watch being held at the Riverside Resort & Casino on March 2 and 3, 2012. An informal hospitality room will be open Friday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm or beyond (?). Saturday morning, the 2012 Spring Conference will begin promptly at 9:00 am in Harbor Rooms 1 and 2. A continental breakfast will be available at 8:00 am for those who ordered same. Evening activities will begin in the Mirror Room with a social hour at 5:30 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm and the Change of Watch program at 7:00 pm. Come join us for a fun day and evening of comradeship with your fellow District 28 squadron members.
The general information for the Conference and a Registration form is attached to this newsletter for your use Please note the specific times will be confirmed when the "CALL TO MEETING" is sent out by the District. Times for all activities are NEVADA TIME!
We have also offered some "Spouse/Guest" activities and if one or two of you would like to volunteer accompany the guests to their chosen activity, it would be greatly appreciated.
Conference RAFFLE TICKETS are available! See Sharon Weller., Jean Militello or I at our meeting on Wednesday, February 8. You will get a sneak peek of some very nice prizes Friday evening in the Hospitality Room on March 2.
Call for a Volunteer:
It would be very much appreciated if one of you could volunteer to write an article for the No Wake Zone explaining the history behind all District 28 squadron burgees. If anyone would like to take on this task, please give me a call either at home or on my cell and I will explain further. This is an opportunity for one of you to exercise and update your research and writing skills then get published in our newsletter!
In the Meantime: Look for the notice in the Mohave Daily News about the upcoming Spring America's Boating Course presented by Mike Accardo at Los Lagos! Classes will be held on April 14 and April 28. Let your friends and family know of this great opportunity to get their Certificate before it is required by the various state and local entities along the river and lakes.
The Seamanship classes will be starting in early February. For those who signed up, your books should be available for you at our next meeting, February 8.
Here are my wishes for all to enjoy a great month full of happiness and good health.
