Welcome to Long Bay Power Squadron's Web Site

Commander Kathryn Byrd, AP

Long Bay is one of 14 squadrons making up District 26.  Each is a unit of the United States Power Squadrons® "American's Boating Club" with headquarters in Raleigh, N.C.  This national non-profit organization founded in 1914 is dedicated to safer boating through education with Long Bay being chartered in 1960.  Our current membership of 110+ members share a common interest in boating even though all members DO NOT own boats.  We meet socially the second Tuesday of each month at different area restaurants (see "2006 Calendar" for details).  In addition, the club goes cruising each month March through November.  Our "Boating Activities" shows the details.

The Triangle to the right shows our three areas of primary interest.  The "Education"  page shows the many courses available to our members as well as classes offered to the public as a part of our Civic Service.  Additional civic contributions include free "Vessel Safety Checks" as well as collecting information about local waters to assist NOAA in upgrading nautical charts.

That's what we are and what we do - thank you for taking the time to learn more about Long Bay Power Squadron.  For information about membership contact Carol Drinkwater.  If you have other questions contact Kathryn Byrd.
