Instructor Development Course
 
Instructor Development (ID) ... All United States Power Squadron courses, both public and member only courses are taught by member volunteers. This course is intended for those who would like to teach as an aid to developing and enhancing their presentation skills.

The emphasis is on developing teaching skills applicable to the adult learning situation. The student will prepare several lessons of varying length and complexity and deliver them to an student audience. As well, there is a closed book examination.

Topics include verbal and nonverbal communications, adult learning theory, adults with learning disabilities, lesson plans, questioning skills, teaching aids, and presentation techniques.

This course has no prerequisites.
