Marblehead Sail & Power Squadron has been actively involved with Cooperative Charting since 2000 when it first adopted Nautical Chart No. 13276, which covers the local waters of Beverly, Salem, and Marblehead Harbors. About the Program. Cooperative Charting is a community service program provided by USPS in cooperation with the National Ocean Service of NOAA. The Program is conducted and administered cooperatively by the National USPS Cooperative Charting Committee and the Marine Chart Division of the National Ocean Service.
The Program is a major community service program. Under it, USPS members supply information to the Marine Chart Division leading to the production "of accurate, up-to-date nautical and aeronautical charts" and related publications; and the preservation of geodetic control stations in the National Geodetic Reference System.
